The street style you missed from Australian Fashion Week, shot on film

The dust has well and truly settled in the wake of Australian Fashion Week, now we’re almost a month on from the event. The news cycle moves quickly in fashion media and we certainly weren’t expecting to run any more stories about the week, its runways or the parade that happens outside them. But after receiving a fresh batch of film images from the week, we had to reconsider.

These images show a different side of our country’s approach to street style: one that’s playful and fun, but not committed to trends or disingenuous attempts to be snapped by photographers. They capture the energy and buzz that’s palpable outside Australian Fashion Week’s runways (more on that here), as well as the inspired, creative ways people across our cities love to dress. And we adore them.

Though they took a little longer to come back to us, shot by Kiera Orr at Stradella Rd on 35mm film for Fashion Journal, they’re well worth the wait.
