Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
God wants us to pattern our thoughts towards a specific line of thoughts that shows a “Christ-like” character. From the above passage we as Christians are asked to meditate on things that are :
- True
- Honest
- Just
- Pure
- Virtuous
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
With Christians and as God’s children through the spirit of Sonship through our faith in Jesus we are expected to ponder over Godly thoughts that edify the spirit of a man. We are to bring into subjection every evil thought that need be found in our hearts. Lies and Compromise should be far from us .
