Swiss Water Decaf Producer News

Swiss Water Decaf have announced the upcoming launch of three exceptional new coffees that bring greater traceability, sustainability and taste to their decaf line-up. These coffees are part of our Verdant Reserves range, a fresh approach focused on providing roasters with more accessible, mid-range coffees that never compromise on transparency or quality.

What Are Verdant Reserves?

Verdant Reserves are a new category of fresh-crop coffees designed to be both traceable and approachable in flavour and price. They fill the gap left by popular mid-tier origins like Colombia Excelso and Guatemala Primavera—but with the full traceability today’s roasters and coffee drinkers are asking for.

The initial trio in our Swiss Water Decaf Verdant Reserves line-up includes:

  • Colombia Anserma

  • Costa Rica La Pastora

  • Guatemala Finca Quequezques

Each coffee is decaffeinated using the 100% chemical-free Swiss Water Process, ensuring the integrity of their flavours is preserved, minus the caffeine.

Colombia Anserma

Producer: Cooperativa Cafecultores de Anserma
Region: Caldas, Colombia
Elevation: 1200–1800 masl
Process: Washed
Varieties: Castillo, Cenicafé
Flavour Profile: Roasted almond, dark chocolate, dried apricot, stone fruit

This is a fully traceable take on the classic Colombia Excelso profile. It comes from the Anserma Cooperative, which was founded in 1970 and today supports over 1,700 smallholder farmers across the Andean foothills of western Colombia.

With support from RGC Coffee, we’ve partnered with Anserma not only for their quality beans but for their impressive social and environmental projects—such as solar-powered milling, composting initiatives, clean water efforts, and affordable healthcare programmes for members.

The cup offers comforting chocolate and almond notes alongside vibrant stone fruit and dried apricot—a versatile and satisfying decaf option with a strong social impact story.

Costa Rica La Pastora

Producer: Members of CoopeTarrazú
Region: Tarrazú, Costa Rica
Elevation: 1200–1800 masl
Process: Washed
Varieties: Caturra, Catuaí
Flavour Profile: Baked apple, cashew, chocolate, brown sugar

CoopeTarrazú is Costa Rica’s largest coffee cooperative, representing around 14% of the nation’s production and over 4,000 smallholder farmers. Founded in 1960, it’s a model of cooperative excellence, providing everything from agronomy training to sustainable fertilisers made from composted coffee pulp.

This coffee was sourced through our long-standing partners at Café Noble/Expocert and features classic Costa Rican characteristics: vibrant acidity, smooth chocolate base, and a well-balanced sweetness reminiscent of baked apples and cashew.

Guatemala Finca Quequezques

Producer: The Delgado Family
Region: San Juan Sacatepéquez, Guatemala
Elevation: 1550–1750 masl
Process: Washed
Varieties: Bourbon, Caturra, Catuaí
Flavour Profile: Mandarin orange, baked apple, dark chocolate, brown sugar

This coffee comes from the Delgado family’s farm in the highlands of San Juan Sacatepéquez, where generations have cultivated coffee in harmony with nature. Grown under the canopy of native trees in rich volcanic soil, the farm operates using agroforestry principles that enrich the land and support biodiversity.

Named after a local broad-leafed plant, Finca Quequezques has evolved from forest to farm while maintaining its connection to the land. The result is a flavour-rich coffee with juicy citrus, warming baked fruit, and indulgent chocolate sweetness—now available as a Swiss Water Decaf.
