Leah lost both of her parents when she was a young child.
She had no one to care for her and struggled to survive without food, shelter, or hope for the future.
But when Leah was welcomed by our team in Tanzania, suddenly, she was surrounded by mentors, caregivers, and other children who knew her name, cared for her, and made sure her basic needs were met.
A ministry leader shares—
“Now, Leah has a safe place to live, eats nutritious meals every day, and is going to school for the first time.”
At our ministry in Tanzania, Leah also receives spiritual nourishment.
Our team stands by a four-part pledge to the children we serve. The first part of the pledge affirms our commitment to teach orphaned and vulnerable children the Gospel and how to live as a follower of Jesus Christ.
Recently, something in Leah’s heart began to change. She began to realize that the love of God is much like the grace-filled love she experiences daily from the caregivers and ministry leaders who make sure she is seen, known, and loved.

Leah accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and decided to be baptized.
Her life is changing before her eyes, and her future is filled with hope, faith, and love that help her persevere through difficult times.
2 Corinthians 5:17 reads—
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Leah’s life has been made new through the saving grace of Jesus!
