You can see why it is called The Pipeline

The beautiful waves near Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu can form a long barrel, or pipe. Surfers try to get in the pipe, and when the wave collapses they shoot out of the end in an explosion of spray.
A video would be more descriptive.
The surf contest now known as the Titans of Mavericks has been called for Friday, Feb 12. Some of the best surfers fly from around the world to compete on waves twice this big, but not as blue.
The shoreline at Mavericks is difficult, so no public will be allowed to see it live.
The site is near Half Moon Bay, just a few miles from I live.
