Vintage Chevy Bel Air

Now for something completely different; spotted this gorgeous cherry red vintage Chevy during a trip out to the Redwood City harbor in February. Perfectly maintained; it’s owned by a Silicon Valley executive who also keeps his boat at the marina.
For some of us, it’s a glimpse of our youthful days; for others hopefully just a shiny red bit of vintage trivia.
I wonder why there is such a sense of nostalgia for cars of this era? maybe because most of us don’t actually remember the challenges of driving a car without auto transmission, keyless locking systems, GPS, air bags, anti-lock brakes, power windows, power steering, etc.
The Westpoint Marina does not appear on the satellite map yet; hopefully the satellite image will eventually be refreshed.
