To All My Friends – I Won’t Have a Cell Phone on Wednesday
My new HP iPAQ6945 arrived. The first thing to do was take the case off and put in the Sim card. I opened the back of the RAZR V3c and took out the battery. Long-Story-Short: There is no Sim card in my Motorola Razr cell phone. I have service with Alltel.
Digital Technology Standards
CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) – Alltel, Verizon, and Sprint use this
GSM (Globas Standard for Mobile Service) – T-Mobile, Cingular, and all of Europe use this
iDen – Only Nextel uses this
We’ll be boxing up the iPAQ and sending it back. I can’t use it. I could if I wanted to change to Cingular, but I DON’T because there’s almost no coverage in the town where I work.
My brother-in-law and Jim took the Razr apart looking for the Sim card. There is NO Sim card because I’m with Alltel–a CDMA network. I kinda thought that might be the case because I’d been researching it on the web…..but…..oh, well! It’s another exciting story in my quest for geeky stuff–that doesn’t work since I live out in the "boonies." When Jim put the Alltel Motorola Razr V3c phone back together, it didn’t work!!!!!
