The event was very successful beyond our expectations!
– We send the invitation directly to 360 NGOs from Lima, using a registration form created with Microsoft 365 Forms App.
– Makaia also help us sending invitations to its database sharing the link to our registration form.
– Finally 158 NGOs were registered for the meeting (the final list is attached to this email), but due to Microsoft auditorium capacity (90 people) we confirmed just to 90 of them.
– However approximately 110 NGOS representatives were to the meeting, but only the first 90 that arrived on time were allowed by Microsoft to entrance to the auditorium.
– The first half hour, Microsoft showed videos about virtual reality and IT applied to education and social development.
– Then I made an introduction to the participants about IT for social organizations and the opportunity to be registered in Techsoup to receive many products for free or just with admin fees (I am also attaching my presentation).
– After that, Microsoft introduce particpants to Office 365 and its 24 applications. This was very interesting for participants.
– Then, there was a coffee break for all participants using the funds that Techsoup sent to me. (the cost was more than US0, but it is Ok)
– After that, a partner of Microsoft introduced participants about MS Azure, but in my sense the language was too much technical.
– Then another partner of Microsoft presented Dynamics 365 and all applications, but at the end we realize that only Dynamics 365 for CMR is available in the Microsoft donation program, but NGOs require more the business edition of Dynamics 365 for Operations and Finance (ERP).
– Finally there were many questions about registration procedure in Techsoup and the need of support to implement IT and software for many NGOs.
Outputs of this event:
– Makaia will start to receive more applications of Peruvian NGOs to be registered in TechSoup.
– NGOs representatives that not attended to the event are asking for other event.
– The branding of Microsoft and the expectation about the donations were very powerful to attract NGOs to the event.
– NGOs would like to have the business edition of Dynamics 365 for Operations and Finance (ERP) as part of Microsoft donation program
This is all to inform about the event. In the next time we can organize another similar event for the NGOs that were not allowed to participate due to Microsoft auditorium capacity.
Best regards,
Carlos
