While talking with some other folks on the northwest corner of Michigan and Randolph, Santino reached out with his CD in his hand, asking if I’d like to buy his CD. I declined initially, but when I saw that he needed album art and truly was an artist looking for a break, I took a few pictures for him (and bought his CD). We had such a great time chatting–he’s been selling his CD out here for about five months. He’s performed at a few venues in Wicker Park. Now, his friend has an open mic night at a small club and he’s going to rap there. I’m looking forward to seeing more of "Slimtino".
