One of the things I was most excited for when I went to WDW for my DCP was Gaston. Gaston hasn’t visited Disneyland in quite sometime, so I was pretty stoked to interact with my favorite Disney villain (Hades following behind closely). When I wasn’t working, I made sure to visit Gaston, as I never got to work with him. At least, for the majority of my program.
As a photopass CP, I didn’t get to "bid" which area I wanted to work. It was nice, though, because I was fortunate enough to work in almost every area. I lucked out.
The day after Christmas, I was deployed to the back of the park, specifically the New Fantasyland area. I was excited, because Gaston is in that area, and during the holidays, he does meet and greets late into the night. I hoped, prayed, and begged fate to put me with Gaston for my last shift in New Fantasyland, as I had yet to work with him (after this shift, I only worked on Main Street for the rest of my program). Fate smiled upon me, and I got to work with Gaston for my last character shift as a photopass CP.
Without a doubt, that was the best shift I had on my program. Time flew by, I laughed constantly, and had the best group of cast members working with me. Sure, it was kind of cold, the day after Christmas, and I was exhausted, but I didn’t care. Working with Gaston was just the best. If you haven’t gone to meet him, I strongly recommend doing so. He’s wildly funny.
I seriously hope that Gaston makes his way back to Disneyland soon. I think he would be a great addition to Fantasy Faire.
