Returning to NZ

My son Ethan has just flown back here to New Zealand so this is quite exciting! Luckily we’re all NZ citizens because I’m pretty sure they’re not letting anyone else into the country to keep the Covid at bay. There’s only been a few cases here in the last four weeks, so that’s pretty cool.
Ethan is headed down to Southland to begin a new adventure in his life. He’s probably gonna be the local samurai, making money by plying his ninja skillz. It’s a fast-growing job category.
No, but seriously, he just landed on Air New Zealand and is in The Quar in Auckland for two weeks. He said that the LA Airport was pretty much empty and only one store was open: Panda Express. They gave him free food because of the aforementioned ninja outfit. Then he said the AirNZ flight only had about 40 people on it from LAX to AKL.
After he landed in AKL (he said it was the only arriving plane), they all got on a bus and went to the Pullman Hotel. There was a line for about two hours as people were told all their rules and picked out all their meals for two weeks. I don’t know how he did that and planned his meals so far ahead… I can’t even figure out what I want for dinner tonight. Ethan should have just said, "Only rice. Only rice." while his hands played upon the hilt of his katana.
Anyway, he’s stuck in his room and every 2nd day he gets to go outside alone for 30 minutes with an escort. I said hey that’s pretty cool… and asked do you get to like choose if she’s a blonde or a redhead or something? He said he didn’t think it was that kind of escort. Anyway, I’m excited to see him in two weeks when he gets down here to Queenstown!
