Panel 1- Mowgli holding onto a tree after an almost sudden fall down. Now traditionally, I use full body shots when using Mowgli shots for these sketches, but I kinda seemed to like the way he looked hiding behind the tree trunk and how his hands & feet are positioned. I added more definition to the right foot, where the sole is showing, for more detail where the other shot was lacking & now looks better.
Panel 2- Mowgli just casually walking alongside his Wolf Pack. This picture was a bit small, but I managed to get some detail on the face, but I think I did the left hand wrong, or something. :hmmm:
Panel 3- Mowgli stopping his walk to ponder about something. I like the pose & the sense of awe and curiosity that the character is sensing, which is usually a large part on my projects.
Panel 4- Mowgli in some sort of Nightmare (not on Elm Street) and becoming scared. Again, the pose & style, plus the fact that there’s a different sort of emotion resembled here that isn’t used very often.
Panel 5- Mowgli dangles off a tree after almost falling off. I liked the pose & the 3D type hand that’s left hanging here. I also liked the facial expression done on here, too.
Panel 6- Mowgli hanging onto that tree for dear life. A different kind of pose that the usual ones, because his hands & feet are kept hidden behind the tree trunk. Also, the facial expression was pretty good & exhibited a bit of innocence & sorrow.
Panel 7- Back view of Mowgli after running from something only to stop & confront it. Another back view that I liked & has a bit of Action-Style Pose to it. I might’ve made his Right Fingers a bit too fat, but at least I redefined the Left Foot which was certainly lacking in detail. 😎
Panel 8- Supposedly from the previous panel, as Mowgli continues to run from something. It isn’t usual that I use a back view running shot. Usually it’s either a front or side view shot, so it was nice that I could use a back view this time. I’m not too sure about the degrees in the left arm as they look a bit doubled, or something, but I added a crease on the left foot since the other shot was lacking in detail.
Panel 9- My Favorite panel in the set. Mowgli sitting down in a calm & peaceful moment. As usual, I liked the pose & symmetry it has to it also.
Panel 10- Mowgli sitting down in an Innocent & Childlike manner. This is likely the most innocent panel in this set & I admire the pose & sense of feeling that he shows. I like how his face looks too.
Panel 11- Mowgli walking away to supposedly rejoin his Wolf Pack. Another pose & shot that I liked & improved on some of the anatomy like the legs and feet. Not too sure on the face though, as it makes him look a bit too P’oed. 😮
Panel 12- Same shot continued from panel 11, with Mowgli turning around as he walks away. I jokingly call this the ‘Bigfoot Video Pose’, you know that infamous video shot back in the 60s where it supposedly captured some Missing Link wandering in the Rockies? Well, this panel kinda reminds me of it. 😆
Anyways, this shot surprisingly took me quite a while to trim & edit, but I managed to get the anatomy done very well in this. So much, that it’s one of my favorite in this volume.
Panel 13- A top view of Mowgli running off into the grassy plains. Another type of Action Pose I liked which show the overall athletic quality as he runs & creates a sense of awe & movement.
Panel 14- Mowgli squats down on the grass as to analyze something. I like the pose in this and the fact of using his fingers & feet to get a better sense of the area and has a bit of Search & Discovery to it as well.
Panel 15- Mowgli crawling onto the ground to supposedly sneak away from his Wolf Pack. I liked the pose and the way his body is low to the ground as too add a bit of sneakiness or detecting something in the mist.
Panel 16- Mowgli perched high on top of a tree trunk with his back to us. Another back view but this time squatting down on a tree trunk in an athletic type posture that I usually like to use. I added more detail to his back & the foot and did the rest of the anatomy justice.
Panel 17- Mowgli on top of the tree trunk & ready to swing away. I very much like the sense of charm he has. Like he enjoys being aloft in the wilderness & all his Rules & Restrictions left behind, and has much of the innocence he exhibits here.
Panel 18- Mowgli hanging & swinging on a tree branch in an adventurous style. Now, you can’t really have a Jungle Boy project without some tree top swinging here, ay? 😀 Anyways, I like the pose & the anatomy done here, especially the way his body bends & contorts to his movements & how the hair is flowing, too.
Panel 19- Mowgli crouched down on a dry & dusty old Mountain top. Yet another captive pose & shot I like with his body contorting in an athletic style to it, and in spite the picture being a bit fuzzy, I’m pretty satisfied that I got the anatomy & lineart done right here & I also like his facial expression too.
Panel 20- Mowgli sitting down in his cave & listening to whoever is speaking. I know it looks as if he has only 4 toes on the left foot, but that’s about all the detail I could scrunch in there. Oh well. :hmm:
Panel 21- Mowgli now kneeling down on that same old Mountain top from panel 19. Like the panel before it, I like the way he’s posed here in a sense of athleticism. That right eye looks a bit too big, though, but eh, that‘s about all I could do. 😮
Panel 22- Mowgli kneeling to the ground & turning towards the center of his direction. I liked the body detail & anatomy on here as well as the level of movement he shows here as well as the sense that he‘s analyzing his surroundments here.
Panel 23- Mowgli kneeling down to the same ground, but now in a different action. Much like the same kind of pose & style in the previous panel, but now with a bit of different feeling done here. Now instead of analyzing his surroundings, he now seems to be in a state of ponder or in deep thought on whatever is crossing his mind, which shows in his face.
Panel 24- Mowgli in a wooded area & paying close attention to whoever is at command. Thought I would have a lot to work around with that critter perched on his shoulder, but I actually drew around it with almost no trouble at all. 😎 I like how the left hand is done in a very elegant type of style. Hands are always commonly used in Authoritian Symbology & have a lot of flow and style to them.
Panel 25- Mowgli standing tall in a proud & boastful manner on a grassy plain.
Like many other panels in this Sketch Collection, I admire the way he’s posed & stands like a Gentleman, even though he instinctively has a very Feral & Wild habit in him, it’s nice to see the Man-Cub have some kind of Authoritism in his body language especially that he has Dominance in all that is Created before him which shows on his face.
