Monumental reflections at the National Mall
We had dinner at the iconic Old Ebbitt Grill, which is located a stone throw away from the White House in Washington DC. Former Vice President Mike Pence was dining with his family in the booth next to us. After dinner I went by my own for a night shoot at the National Mall. I first went to the Washington Monument, where I met a friendly Secret Service member on a bicycle. We spoke in English, Japanese, and Italian. He speaks 5 languages, like me. He studied Japanese at the Nanzan University in Nagoya, where I used to live for many years. Later I walked over to the Lincoln Memorial. The reflecting pool was mostly solid frozen. I found a spot with water, which invited me to take this reflection shot.
I processed balanced, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photos from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
