This is Kia, or as I more fondly call him, Ky-ROO. 🙂
He came up into our rescue here in PA with a group of other dogs that had survived hurricane Katrina. When we got him off the transport van, he was SO sick. I thought we were not going to make it home with him. He had the worst respiratory infection you could imagine. Plus a whole array of other problems as well. I refused to put him in a crate for the trip to our place, saying that if he was going to die, he was going to die being held and loved, that is how sick he was. He leaned on my shoulder and moaned and just tried to breathe the whole trip. (you should have seen my lovely green and yellow mucous-covered clothes by the time we got home. 😛 )
I called my wonderful vet on the way home and gave her the scoop. She stayed open for us and he was in the hospital on IVs forever but finally got well.
We aren’t sure what he is. Hes been called a collie mix, aussie mix, full aussie, shepherd mix, and any other assortment of things – even rottie mix!
He is an AMAZING dog. He has an incredible spirit and beautiful soul. He is very smart and knows obedidence and some agility now as well as an array of fun tricks. 🙂 He was just supposed to be a foster dog, but obviously, he won our hearts so he’s here to stay!
Other photos of him are in with the Ferlinka Borzoi and Puppies pages.
