An over the pitwall shot of the 1960 Bond Formula Junior, one of only two of these front wheel drive cars to exist. As a project, the Bond FJ was created by Lawrance Bond, who wanted to manufacture all the bespoke elements for the car himself rather than outsourcing various elements as other small teams usually did.
The first car was completed and raced in the 1961 season, but wasn’t successful and the car was retired (the age of front engined formula cars came to an end as the mid-engined layout became the de-facto standard). The car was sold on to Chris Featherstone (who also bought the ssecond car as an unfinsihed project), but suffered a crash in 1964, ending the appearance of the Bond FJ until 2000 when Chris Featherstone was persuaded to get the car fixed for the Monaco Classic.
Details from the Andrew Tart Motor-engineering webiste, more details on the car can be found there.
