Hook Lighthouse

(96/366) Before we’d heard the news that our house sale here had fallen through we’d already arranged a trip to Wexford so I could visit the cottage we’re buying. As it was too short notice to cancel the hotel without losing the full amount due (and our son had booked 2 days off work to be our dog-sitter) we decided to be positive & go anyway. I’m so glad we did as the weather was fabulous. Luckily I loved the cottage! The owner is in no desperate rush to move out so if it takes a little while to find a new buyer here it might not be too much of an issue.
After we viewed the cottage we explored more of the local area & drove down the Hook peninsula for the first time. It’s just 20 minutes away from our potential new home! Sin of sins I’d forgotten to pack my camera but my iPhone did a pretty good job of capturing Hook Lighthouse. The present structure is about 800 years old and is the oldest intact operational Lighthouse in the world.
