BDU-50 Practice Bomb

The BDU 50 practice bomb is a variant of the American Mk.82 low-drag general purpose bomb. The Mk.82 is the 500LB member of the Mk.80 series of bombs. The Mk 80 series bombs were designed with as aerodynamic a shape as possible to reduce drag when carried by high-performance jet aircraft. As general purpose ordnance, the Mk.80 series bombs can be used against a wide variety of targets and can be fitted with different fuses and tailfins. The Mk.80 series are also frequently fitted with laser-seekers and guidance fins to increase their accuracy.
