A Shy Volcano.

Mountains have a mind and weather of it’s own. They create and regulate their own micro climate apart from it’s surroundings. I’ve had plenty of experiences of being dissed by mountain weather.
This time it was Arenal Volcano, something I really wanted to see. I also wanted to see the lava flow, but apparently that hasn’t happened in the last one year or so :(. Nature doesn’t give money back guarantees …
I wish we had more time to spent here ( you will hear me say that a lot …), could have probably explored a way to go up the crater, shoot some birds etc …
This was shot from the deck of the restaurant at the Observatory Lodge. It was challenging to get good light on the mountains and forest canopy, with all those clouds floating by. The lodge is located almost at the base of the volcano. Apparently some Lava ridge formations is supposed to keep the Lodge safe from any eruptions and lava flows. It didn’t look very convincing to me considering that most locals weren’t aware that the volcano was cooking up something till 1968 when it blew up and buried a town underneath it.
