This is Centro de Difusión Cultural Raúl Gamboa Cantón – Potosino Institute of Fine Arts (IPBA). Its across the street from Jardin Alameda Centro SLP.
This building was built between 1976 and 1977, from a design by architect Marco Antonio Garfias and opened on April 21, 1978, by President of the Republic José López Portillo.
The Raúl Gamboa Cultural Diffusion Center is spread over five floors. It has four galleries, a theater with capacity for two hundred and eighty-six people, a library, an art gallery, administrative areas and public services.
The gallery preserves work of the plastic potosina and the Shapiro collection, donated by the gallery owner Estela Shapiro to IPBA and composed of contemporary national graphic work of outstanding artists such as Carlos Nakatani.
Was not open so we did not get inside.
