BACKSTORY:
BACKSTORY: Got up around 8:15AM, made it out driving by 8:44AM, and went out until ~12:45PM, for a total of 4 hours. Spent .35 plus ~.37 gas for 47.1 miles of driving (16.4 mpg @ .94/G), for a total cost of .72. We drove to 59 yard sales, stopping at 23 (39%) of them. We made 24 purchases (27 items) for a total estimated value of 5.08, leading to a profit/savings of 3.36. So in essence, we multiplied our .72 investment by 5.63X. (Also, if you think about it, the profit counts for even more when you consider that we have to earn $ ~220 on the job, pre-tax, in order to take home the 3 in cash that we saved. How long does 0 of disposable income take to earn, vs the 4 hrs we spent here?) Anyway, this works out to a *post-tax* "wage" of .25/hr as a couple or .13/hr per person.
