How we use a CNC machine to build custom cabinets

In this video from the Bruckelmeyer Cabinetry Shop, we show off our new CNC Machine and demonstrate how we’re using it to drastically cut down the time it takes to build out our custom cabinets.

James explains the process for how to accurately prep the machine while Evan operates the computer. Watch the stunning footage of how the machine cuts out a batch of new panels for a recent cabinetry job for a new home project.

The Bruckelmyer Cabinet shop is located on the shores of Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota.

  1. We got our Pro510 in February 2020 and it has been a game changer. We previously had a 5×5 CNC without a tool changer and while it was a good machine to learn some of the basics, it was an intermediate hobby machine. The ShopSabre is pro grade and built to last.

Material thickness is something that so many people fail to take into account but it is so important to getting good results.

  2. huge money. $150-250 bits x multiple bits, auto too change, multi zone vac, 20hp vac pumps, dust collection, air, 3 phase 480 power, 10-12hp spindles. shit gets expensive no to mention u wanna make damn sure your files are right, east to wreck a $150-200 sheet of material.. or break a bit.

  3. I am a professional in the field of CNC, I work on (Aspire). I live in Italy. Can I get a job?tanx

  4. Title should not include the word “how.” It should be, “our new CNC machine is cool.” Or something like that.

  5. Interesting video, have you considered an overhead track system to move a full sheet of plywood into the machine, via a vacuum and electric hoist system?

  6. Hi are you running 3D parametric cabinet design software or drawing each panel in 2D? This is the biggest efficiency improvement for CNC cabinetry. You can automate your fixings drilling and everything with the right software. We use CabinetSense in Sketchup, it would take care of automating dado positions too for your preferred construction method

  7. You guys as the operators should be programing the CNC it is how you will get good at designing.I've had a CNC in a shop for over 15 years still working and don't feel I have to upgrade .
