  1. You can cut it at 36 inches for the lean back, how ever if yo cut a 12 inch channel 3/4 of the way through, and make a tail that can slide flush that could extend out too 48 inches then you have the best of both worlds..

  2. I've actually built a few of these because my family and I enjoy sitting outside around the campfire One modification that I did though was I actually cut a handle in the middle of the backrest so when you fold them up you can carry them one-handed

  3. I absolutely love that he holds up a giant wood pecker and with a straight face says "This should look like an arrow."

  4. To make the chair even in a more upright position screw a blok of wood with a hinge at the end of the board. Fold it in/under to get a more upright position. Since it can fold out as well it will allow you to slide the board in and out.

  5. You should have made a chair with the shorter support board so we can see the difference in how they differ in sitting position.

  6. If you would shorten the supports to hold the set in for storage and cut a hand hold into the back rest, you could have a handle to carry it.

  7. I like that you go into extreme detail on your builds. I have PTSD and it affects how I understand things. Great work. I'm a subscriber.

  8. The dimensional lumber (where 2" = 1/12") comes from the idea of rough sawn versus surfaced lumber. The idea is if you take an 8/4 rough sawn board and mill it down, the end result will be 1 1/2 inches. Reality is you can squeeze out more than that, but that is the concept.

  9. Probably a little more leaned back. I would use it by the campfire. I like the way you made it fit together to carry. That’s pretty awesome.
