Would it be possible for you to make a video or sell instructions for building a stand like this for a 55 gallon aquarium? Thank you!
How did you arrive at the calculation that 2*4 of 3 feet tall can hold 800 pounds? Which unit of measument are you using?
Honestly, I have watched about 17 videos so far on building tanks and this has to be hands down the best I have found on Youtube. The way you talk the whole time to make the viewer understand every step as well as the concept behind it is huge. Thank you brother~!
Great video except for the amount of time the camera is out of focus and excessive movement.
Whats are the specific cuts on the wood im literally trying to make this exact replica..im tired of my aquarium sitting on centerblocks and plywood
How much load will a 2×6 “42 long take??
One thing I've never understood about this design is WHY make the guides shorter ? Why not have the guides match the height of the top/bottom frames plus the upright inbetween them and that way the guides also take the weight of the tank? Especially if you're putting ply on top of it all
Do you have a video where you finished the tank? Plywood, insulation, esthetics, etc? I've followed your plans and built the stand, and now I have no idea what to do next.
Thanks for the video. I just bought a used 90 gallon aquarium and searched YouTube for a stand build. I came across your video and I just built one using your video.
Looking to build my own stand. Plan on using 2×6 but question how many 2×6 do u recommend getting for one stan?
So, I have a 48x24x24 terrarium and I’m wanting to build my own stand. What are the exact measurements I need for each 2×4 to build one like yours?
Im building a coldplunge right now. Next will be custom stand for 55gal
Im 6'2" and currently i have a generic 30in metal stand sitting on 4 concrete blocks so its 16in taller. I dont completely trust this stand and would like it to be taller. Getting it level with me my biggest hurdle. Got a miter and pocket hole jig for cold plunge build. This is a great instructional!
What's the name of the tool you used to level the cross supports?
Dude says “I’ll show you how to do it!” Cuts to it already complete.
I'm building a stand for a 8 ft long, 4 ft tall, and 2 ft wide acrylic aquarium. Should I go with 2×4's on this build or something a bit more beefy?
10:13 I don't know how many times I rewatch this video just to find this…im bookmarking it dammit! Also thank you 😀
Is it possible to not put in any center supports for the front so that a sump could be placed underneath and easily removed, repaired, maintained, etc. without compromising the integrity of the stand? I've got a 230g tank that's 6'wide and i want to use my 75g, 4' wide tank as the sump. i would add the sump after the stand was built though.
build them too high and u have to use ladder to feed your fish or to add in new fish to the tank? i think build them at the height of a person hip is good enough? like uh if i want to have some asian arowanas and some snakeheads how my tank gona look like u think it gona be fit for them? maybe 2 each kind so it like 4 together to be comfortable for them like have enough space for them to move around without change to a larger tank could fit for the rest of their life without keep upgrade them when they grown up to max size?
Love your channel by the way I'm cheap too it's okay as long as the job gets done right😊❤
Food for thought… A nail has much more shearing strength than a screw, while a screw has much more tensile strength than a nail. Always look at what direction force will be applied and choose the right fastener… and always use waterproof glue to back up any wood joints you assemble with a nail or screw, 99% of the time the wood will fail before the glue joint does.
