  1. Finally finished and it came up really well. Had to convert to metric, but that was fine. The plans are great and really easy to follow. The only thing I'd advise is to know whether you want cushions or not. I didn't want cushions (no way will anyone in my house remember to bring them inside, so they'll just up disgusting!) and the seat is a bit too deep without them. If I make another one, I'll adjust accordingly. Thanks John, well worth it.

  2. What a stunning project! The end result looks brilliant, and I really admire your joinery skills…Your half laps are super accurate, and I like the fact you laid the slats onto a support rail, rather than driving screws into the end grain of the slats, which I’ve seen lots of other guys do on YouTube.

  3. How much does the project cost to build in materials? Do you have plans for a 3 seat couch to add to the set?

  4. I made the Peech $9000 set (2 chairs and the sofa) last summer for my son. Gonna make this set for myself to use on the 14’x14’ deck I built. BTW I’m 5’4 and turned 66 in 2025. If I can build it so can you.

  5. I am SO envious of your workshop! I've downloaded the plans and, after converting to metric (hope I got it right), cut the timber. I tried ripping the edges for that nice clean look you got, but my set up just isn't good enough and I couldn't get a 100% straight result.

  6. I’ve watched the video a few times and absolutely love the design. I’m hoping to order your plans and build them.

My only query is how far the back is set.. my wife is short, and therefore short legs. The back support of store bought sets are often too far back for short people making it difficult to sit comfortably. What’s the feedback been from builders, and how do you feel about this question?

  7. I just completed mine. I made the bench a 3 seat. The wife loves it. Thank you for the easy plans John

  8. I figured out the 21 1/4 ". Sorry to bother you. Excellent Build Plan, very detailed:

  9. I thought I was going to try this for myself, but I don’t have a table saw. Also – did I miss the part about rounding all the edges?

  10. For sure buying the plans. BUT can I replace the bottom seat boards with cross weaved webbing for some give and comfort or are they structurally needed???

  11. How do you not have more subs?! Great work and great idea with your building plans. They’re super professional looking and easy to follow! Excited to get this project started, and so is my wife!
