SAFN is happy to announce that we are extending the deadlines for submitting papers for the Thomas Marchione Food-as-a-Human Right Student Award and the two Christine Wilson Awards until May 31, 2025.
Professors: As the semester winds down and you find yourself reading brilliant papers by your students, consider encouraging them to submit for these awards. After all, you can give them a grade and helpful comments, but SAFN would be happy to consider their work for fame and fortune.

The Thomas Marchione Food-as-a-Human-Right Student Award, for research and writing that engages with food security and food sovereignty issues, can be used to support research in progress or recognize work that has already been completed. Details are here.
There are two Christine Wilson Awards, one for undergraduate research papers and another for graduate papers that examine topics within the perspectives of nutrition, food studies and anthropology. Details are here.
