Here’s a closer look at the airline’s ongoing efforts to support local students and help them explore exciting careers in aviation, marketing, and beyond.
Inspiring Future Aviators at Kimberly High School
Air Wisconsin is passionate about introducing students to the world of aviation. Recently, Kayla Floyd, Manager of Communications, Social Media, and Marketing & Yvette Woerishofer, HR Manager Recruiting visited Kimberly High School to present on aviation careers, opening the skies to students who may have never considered a job in aviation before. The presentation covered the wide range of roles within the aviation industry, from pilots and flight attendants to air traffic controllers and aviation mechanics while also touching on the corporate opportunities located in Appleton, WI. By engaging with students at this level, Air Wisconsin aims to inspire young minds to pursue careers in aviation, an industry that is rich with opportunity and potential for growth.
Empowering Aspiring Marketers through Appleton West DECA
Air Wisconsin also takes pride in supporting students who are interested in marketing and business. The marketing team consisting of Becky Hinz and Kayla Floyd visited Appleton West High School to speak to DECA members, a student organization focused on preparing emerging leaders for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. In their presentation, Air Wisconsin’s experts discussed marketing strategies, crisis communication, and how to effectively manage a brand in a fast-paced and evolving industry. This hands-on learning experience offered invaluable insights into the real-world applications of classroom lessons, equipping students with the knowledge they need to thrive in the business world and in their upcoming competitions.

Providing Job Shadow Opportunities for Fox Valley Lutheran
Recognizing the importance of experiential learning, Air Wisconsin offers job shadow opportunities to students at local high schools. One such collaboration took place with Fox Valley Lutheran High School, where a local junior was given the chance to observe professionals at work within the aviation industry. This hands-on experience helps students better understand the day-to-day responsibilities of various roles at the airline, and gives them a clearer picture of what a career in aviation might look like. It also included a tour of the Air Wisconsin hangar and a chance to get inside of the cockpit of a CRJ-200 to replicate the feeling of being a Captain someday. These job shadow programs not only provide students with valuable exposure to potential career paths but also allow them to build connections that could open doors for future employment opportunities.

Engaging with Students at Recruiting Job Fairs
Air Wisconsin also prioritizes reaching out to students through recruiting job fairs at schools like Appleton North and Appleton East High Schools. These job fairs provide a direct link between students and employers, offering a platform to discuss job opportunities, internships, and career paths within the airline. At these events, Air Wisconsin representatives are on hand to speak to students about the various positions available, from entry-level roles to more specialized positions in aviation. By participating in these job fairs, Air Wisconsin ensures that students in the Fox Valley region have access to career opportunities close to home.

A Lasting Impact on the Community
Through its outreach initiatives, Air Wisconsin is not only making a difference in the lives of students but also helping to cultivate the next generation of professionals who will one day contribute to the success of the aviation industry and beyond.
