At the TMAE Summit on September 16-17, 2025, Katie Horn (Trademark Paralegal & IP Portfolio Manager, Thermo Fisher) will present the session, “KPI Got This: Measuring Success for Trademark Team.”
Measuring performance isn’t just for attorneys—trademark administrators need metrics, too. In today’s high-volume, high-pressure environments, key performance indicators (KPIs) help TMAs showcase their contributions, improve workflows, and align their work with firm or company goals.
In this session, Katie will discuss how TMAs can identify, track, and communicate meaningful metrics. Participants will discuss:
- The benefits of KPIs for individual performance and broader portfolio strategy
- Trademark-specific metrics like filing success rates, turnaround times, and docketing compliance
- Client- and business-centered KPIs including satisfaction scores and cost savings
- Tools that can help TMAs track and visualize their impact
- How to use KPI data to advocate for resources, training, and recognition
