301/365/3588 (April 8, 2018) – Morris Island Lighthouse (Morris Island, Charleston, South Carolina) – April 8th, 2018

In Charleston to visit my mom. Chris and I took a quick trip from her house on James Island to the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve in Folly Beach where you could view the Morris Island Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1876 on land, but erosion and construction of the jetties to protect the harbor quickly changed the water patterns – and now it stands around 300 feet from shore. This beautiful lighthouse sits at the southern side of the entrance to the Port of Charleston. The Charleston Lighthouse on Sullivan’s Island (which you can you see also in these pictures) sits on the northern side. Taken on a Sunday April 8th, 2018.
