Two Chinese international students cross paths in the UK, sparking an exchange of stories that unveil the challenges and transformations of life. Through candid reflections, their journeys intertwine, revealing a rich tapestry of cultural exploration and personal growth.

Originally produced for the Peopling the Gap pilot project—which explored violence and unheard voices in higher education—this experimental short documentary follows two Chinese students from UCL Anthropology, one undergraduate and one postgraduate, as they engage in candid, occasionally witty conversations about life, learning, and identity in the UK.

Weaving together intimate dialogue and poetic visuals, the film examines dislocation, personal transformation, and the pursuit of belonging as international students and non‑native English speakers. The film will make you laugh, but also ponder the barriers within today’s education system, and leave you moved by the quiet courage required to find paths in unfamiliar places.
