For my birthday this year, I decided to go on a crazy birthday freebie bender, inspired by my friend Toni from @holagato. Last year, she cashed in on birthday freebies for weeks. I thought it would be fun to spend some of my birthday trying to get as many of these as I could. Please note that in order to grab these bday gifts, you’ll usually have to sign up for each company’s email program. So get ready for spam. You’ll want to sign up for these email programs at least one week prior to your birthday to ensure you can actually get the rewards in time.
Here’s where I went:
Stop #1: Jamba Juice
Jamba Juice will give you one free juice or smoothie (small) on your birthday. I got the Amazing Greens. This coupon expired in 30 days. Sign up for their Insider program here.
Stop #2: Einstein Bros Bagel
Einstein Bros Bagel gives you a free egg sandwich on your birthday. I chose the spinach, mushroom and swiss on an ancient grain bagel. DELISH. Sign up for their “schmear society” here. This coupon expired after 10 days.
Stop #3: Jersey Mike’s
This might be my favorite bday reward. You get a free regular sub and fountain drink of your choice. This reward expired in ONE YEAR. When lunchtime rolled around, I got myself the Original Italian with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. Don’t worry, I saved half of the sandwich for lunch the next day. Stop #4: Buffalo Wild Wings
Buffalo Wild Wings gives you a free snack size (5 traditional or boneless wings) on your birthday. I got the “hot” flavor and boy were they hot. I don’t eat wings that often, so I enjoyed these. They even threw in extra ranch for me. You can sign up for their “Buffalo Circle” here. The bday reward expires in one week after your birthday.
Stop #5: Sprinkles
At the end of the day, I hit up Sprinkles for my free birthday cupcake. I had made the mistake of signing up for their emails just two days prior to my birthday, so I never received a coupon. Turns out their birthday coupons are sent out the Wednesday before your birthday. However, I gave them my rewards customer number and they were nice enough to give me a cupcake. I chose Red Velvet. Stop #6: Grimaldi’s
By this time, I was feeling pretty full. However, I could not pass up the Grimaldi’s birthday reward. They give you a large pizza with one topping (!) on your birthday. I chose to get one with mushrooms and jalapenos. Went great with our beers. This gift expired in 10 days. You can sign up for their “e-family” here.
