Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, after a jury found him guilty last year of committing a criminal sexual act against a former assistant.
In a victim impact statement in the courtroom, his accuser, Miriam Haley, said the sexual assault had a “devastat ing effect on my life and sense of security that may never go away”.
Appearing in court in a wheelchair, Weinstein denied the allegations but apologised to “anyone I may have hurt by my actions”.
He is already serving a sentence of 23 years for rape and sexual assault in another case.
